Cicadas are a bizarre yet fascinating insect.  We’ve all come across their shells stuck on trees, railings, etc and likely marvelled at their alien-like creepiness.  On  a recent visit to High Rock Lake, the cicadas had come out en masse, casting off their shells to emerge newly formed and ready to wreak havoc.
